Summertime, fly fishing and al fresco dining

Share

As we move through June the summer is well and truly upon us and South Lakeland and North Lancashire are certainly looking at their very best. We are constantly addressing enquiries from people looking to purchase homes in this beautiful area and it isn’t difficult to see why. We have rivers and mountains, lakes and rolling dales; our landscape reaching from the rugged summits of the Lake District to the shores of picturesque Morecambe Bay providing a patchwork landscape with something for all buyers’ tastes.

Gardens are looking at their best with manicured lawns and overflowing borders with a profusion of colours and heady evening scents. It’s time to dust off the garden furniture and get the BBQ ready for alfresco dining as our lifestyles change to one of outdoor entertainment, after all when the sun shines everyone smiles!

Living on the Cartmel Peninsula we seem to get more than our fair share of sunshine. Our own garden, particularly our lawn, is looking rather parched although the vegetable garden is doing very well as we are almost constantly watering and making sure that our produce grows. I picked the first of our strawberries last week and it looks like we are in for a good summer crop. I love the outdoors and outside of work can often be found enjoying my favourite past times of mountaineering and fly fishing. We were recently on Helvellyn and enjoyed a fabulous day out with hardly a breath of wind and some spectacular views. Hopefully I shall be fishing again at the weekend and have a couple more flies to try out. If I am lucky, a catch or two may be in the offing ensuring that the staff in the office have a good supply of freshly caught trout!

Summertime brings with it a certain feel good factor and in the housing market we love showing our clients’ properties off to their best. Selling the lifestyle, not only the home is so important and at the heart of what we do. We sell some of the most beautiful homes in the area and in doing so have gained a reputation for dealing with this level of property within the market. Our profile attracts a certain type of buyer and we have seen more and more people looking for that something special when searching for their new home. If you are considering selling this summer or are looking for a change of agent, we would be delighted to meet you to discuss your requirements and forward plans……. We can’t promise you a buyer but as we say in fishing, you must cast a fly to catch a trout!
